Centre for Ethics Undergraduate Fellowships in Race, Ethics, and Power 2022-23
We invite applications for the undergraduate fellowship in the Race, Ethics, and Power project at the Centre for Ethics, University of Toronto, during the 2022-23 academic year. The Centre for Ethics is an interdisciplinary research centre that brings together faculty and students from across the university and beyond to advance research and public discourse about all topics in ethics.
We are looking for outstanding senior undergraduate students from any field at the University of Toronto with research interests broadly connected to race, ethics, and power. We especially encourage applications from students who identify as Black and/or Indigenous. REP Undergraduate Fellows will join other fellows to develop their own research, participate in reading groups, attend scholarly talks, and contribute to the organization of events and community outreach.
REP Undergraduate Fellows will receive a stipend of $500 for the academic year and will be provided with carrel space for study at the Centre for Ethics. They will benefit from mentoring throughout the year from our research associate and belong to a close community of undergraduate and graduate fellows.
To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled in a program in the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto and be entering fourth year (interpreted here to mean: have completed at least 14 FCE toward their degree by the end of the current term).
To apply, please submit the following materials (in a single PDF file):
- A one-page cover letter describing your demonstrated interest in the Centre for Ethics’ REP project
- Your most recent transcript for all undergraduate work at the University of Toronto
- A short writing sample discussing themes of race, ethics or power.
Please submit your application materials in PDF format as one file, using the naming convention “LastnameFirstname_UG_2022.” Send your complete application to Ellen Ough, Centre Administrator, at ethics@utoronto.ca.
