Visiting Faculty Fellowships

Visiting Professor at the Centre for Ethics
University of Toronto
2024-25

The interdisciplinary Centre for Ethics at the University of Toronto welcomes applications from faculty at other universities and research institutes who wish to spend all or part of an academic year as a Visiting Professor to conduct research related to the Centre’s mission “to bring together the theoretical and practical knowledge of diverse scholars, students, public servants and social leaders in order to increase understanding of the ethical dimensions of individual, social, and political life.”

Located in the heart of the University of Toronto’s downtown (St. George) campus, the Centre provides Visiting Professors with office and event space, printing and library privileges, as well as up to CAD 2500 for research expenses (which can be also used for travel costs to Toronto). Unfortunately, we cannot provide salary replacement or administrative support. Visiting Professors contribute to the Centre’s intellectual life through participation in seminars, workshops, and other Centre events.

To apply, please send (1) a cover letter including a statement of your proposed research and source of funding and (2) a current CV to ethics@utoronto.ca. Please submit your application materials in PDF format as one file, using the naming convention “LastnameFirstname_2024.”

Please note that Visiting Professorships are intended for individuals holding full-time faculty positions at universities and research institutes who are on leave (e.g., sabbatical) and intend to return to their position at the end of their stay at the Centre for Ethics.
