Nick Sage

Doctoral candidate, Faculty of Law, University of Toronto.

Nick’s main research interest is the philosophy of private law. He also has interests in legal, political, and moral philosophy more generally. His dissertation considers how the legal philosophy of the natural law tradition, particularly the work of Kant and Hegel, can illuminate today’s common law of contract.

Nick has a BA in political studies and an LLB, with honors, from the University of Auckland. He also received an LLM from New York University School of Law, where he was a Hauser Global Scholar. He has worked as a judge’s clerk at the Supreme Court of New Zealand and as a litigator at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York City.
