Nazanin Ghanavizi

Nazanin’s academic interests lie in modern political thought and critical theory. Of her main interests are public reason and the inclusive role of new media in formation of public opinion. She has written one of her MA dissertations on this theme. Her publications, so far, are concerned with political implications of social networking, online public sphere, blogging in Iran, and her most recent book chapter deals with the role of technology and citizen journalism in social movements. She is working more focally on Habermasian idea of political public sphere and its critiques as well as citizenship forms in the age of information.

Nazanin holds an MA in Sociology as well as another MA in gender and cultural studies from the University of Sydney. She is pursuing her graduate studies in political theory at the University of Toronto.
